1. Controller and scope
The controller for this website is Gerald Docenko, Goetheweg 6, 85748 Garching b. München, Germany. Contact: gerald@docenko.eu, telephone +49 89 80959609.
This notice covers the company website and contact enquiries. It does not describe processing within the KNX-MCP ETS app or an AI service you choose separately.
2. Visiting the website
Gerald Docenko operates this website on a self-administered server at Hetzner. The infrastructure provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Administration of the website and web server is undertaken under my own responsibility.
When you request pages or files, the serving system processes connection data needed to deliver them, particularly the IP address, request time, requested address and HTTP information supplied by the browser. This may include a browser identifier and referring page. The purpose is delivery of the website and protection of its operation. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is secure, reliable provision of the website.
Retention of web server logs: Daily rotation is configured for web server logs covered by Plesk domain log rotation. In addition to the current log file, a maximum of seven rotated files is retained for each log type. Further rotations automatically delete the oldest files. Archives are compressed; automatic emailing of the logs is not configured.
This rule describes the current file and the limited number of archived files. It does not promise that every individual entry is deleted exactly seven days after it was recorded.
3. Display settings and browser storage
The supplied website code sets no cookies, loads no external fonts, maps or videos, and contains no analytics, marketing or tracking scripts. Images, styles and scripts are served locally with the website.
When you choose light/dark mode, the website stores only that choice in your browser’s sessionStorage, using the key gd3d-theme. Language is determined by the page address and does not require additional browser storage. No visitor identifier is created. These values are not sent to a server and remain available for the browsing session. Depending on your browser, restoring a session may restore the settings. “Reset display settings” in the footer deletes these values. No new preference values are stored without an active choice.
This storage implements the display you requested (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG). To the extent personal data is processed, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies, based on the interest in implementing your interface choice. The static company website does not require additional cookies or external services for its display.
4. Email and telephone enquiries
I use Microsoft 365 business accounts for business email; the accounts are managed through Microsoft Entra ID. Sending, receiving and storing emails involves processing, in particular, sender and recipient addresses, message content, any attachments, and technical delivery and security information. The website itself has no Microsoft sign-in and does not automatically embed Microsoft services.
If you contact me, I process the contact details and content you provide to handle your enquiry. For contract-related enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in business communication. Contact is voluntary, but I may be unable to respond without suitable return contact information.
The website has no ticket form and stores no enquiries in a web database. An email link opens your email application; clicking it does not itself send a message. Please do not send passwords, private keys or particularly sensitive information by unencrypted email.
Correspondence is deleted after the matter is concluded when further handling, statutory retention or legal claims no longer require storage. The criteria are the content and purpose of the matter and the legal duties that apply.
5. Service providers and transfers
Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH provides the infrastructure for the self-administered web server. Information about the data processing terms offered by Hetzner is available in Hetzner's data protection information.
Email: Microsoft provides the Microsoft 365 business services. Microsoft publishes the Microsoft Products and Services Data Protection Addendum (DPA). The terms incorporated into the applicable contract and the business tenant configuration govern the specific use.
A Microsoft 365 business account does not mean that all processing takes place exclusively in Germany. Microsoft's EU Data Boundary documentation also describes limited transfers outside that boundary. The actual storage location and applicable transfer conditions therefore depend on the tenant and contract in use.
Where Microsoft processes personal data outside the European Economic Area as part of the services used, transfers are governed by the contractual and legal safeguards applicable to the relevant Microsoft 365 service and business tenant. Germany-only data storage is not promised.
6. External links and KNX-MCP
External websites are not embedded automatically. A connection to an external provider is made when you follow its link; that provider’s privacy notice then applies. This company website does not send ETS projects to AI providers. Processing in a separately used KNX-MCP installation or AI client depends on that application and its configuration.
Remote assistance requires a separate agreement and does not start when you visit this website. The tool and required access are discussed before a session.
The support area at support.docenko.eu is operated as a separate area. The privacy information provided there applies to the functions offered in that support area.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for the future.
Objection: You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). Please contact gerald@docenko.eu.
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR), particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. For private-sector organisations in Bavaria, one contact is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
8. Automated decisions and changes
This website does not carry out automated decision-making with legal effects or profiling. This notice will be adapted when the website or its processing changes.
